Class Experience

Do you love history but wonder about the stories that are often left out? These are subjects that are often uncomfortable because they involve murder, lies, rape, terrible government actions, betrayals, and everything in between. I strive to present these true stories from history as accurately as possible, putting a lot of time and research into each class. Trigger warnings will be listed at the beginning of each class to give students time to prepare mentally for what they will be learning about.

Learning Goals

  • Students will expand their knowledge of history, even the gruesome aspects of it and have a chance to learn the context in which these stories took place.

  • Engagement for Diverse Learners: This class is tailored for students with various learning styles. Whether you prefer visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learning, the diverse content will keep you engaged.

  • Interactive Learning: Through group discussions and interactive activities, students will have the opportunity to engage deeply with the material. Conversations and debates will help develop critical thinking and public speaking skills.

  • Multimedia Integration: The class incorporates videos, audio recordings, and visual aids to bring historical events to life, making the learning experience dynamic and immersive.

  • Critical Thinking and Analysis: Students will learn to analyze historical events critically, understanding not just what happened, but why it happened and its impact on the present.

  • Connection with Peers: This class fosters a sense of community among students with similar interests, providing a supportive environment for sharing thoughts and ideas.

"My teen son has loved this class! He loves all things dark, but this has given him a true heart and interest in learning history as well. I appreciate the positive tone of the class even thought it’s hard issues."

"This is an innovative and informative class. I love that my daughter was able to learn and discuss historical events that are not included in usual history classes. I never saw any subject that was inappropriate for this age group, but the teacher does warn you before addressing subjects that may be triggering. My daughter has enjoyed this class so much! She's leaving the class because she has graduated. "

"My son has thoroughly enjoyed this class. He has learned so much and we have had tremendous conversations about many of his classes. This means so much, as a parent. I want my children to embrace the importance of knowledge and also the freedom to acquiring “truth”. Thank you so much for this class, it was very refreshing and informative! Parents….don’t miss out on this terrific opportunity for your child to expand their minds, and grow without limits. FIVE STARS ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
